While walking by a wastewater pond, I noticed massive clouds of mayflies and mosquitos over the water. A gentle breeze filtered towards me through the chain link fence, it was then I noticed the legions of dragonflies hovering just above the top bar, awaiting a gust to push the prey into a collision with the bar and ultimately an effortless catch for the agile marauders. I briefly celebrated the providence of the dragonflies squadron, until I noticed the swallows running offense from a nearby bridge. Nature seems to be complex systems nested delicately, humanity has literally become a figurative volcano, mayfly, mosquito, dragonfly, swallow, they all fall indiscriminately to the windshield moving through the atmosphere at an unnatural disruptive pace. How is your cadence? I wish mine were better, but how to accomplish this? I saw a homeless man sleeping in a culvert, sharing the cool shade with insects, snakes, rodents, and the like. His cadence is more closely synced with nature, but I doubt he’s happier for it.
