Quite a lot of houses have gone up in my area over the past three years.
With one notable exception of a plot of 1 and 2 bedroom affordable houses/apartments developed next to a railway line by a housing charity, these have all been 3-5 bedroom higher end houses.
Housing developers left to their own devices will build for the greatest profit. This makes sense for companies, and they are too easily allowed to duck their section 106 responsibilities.
