today i learned:

in 1906, Luigi Galleani (an anarchist fugitive living under a fake name in Vermont) got into a flame war with NYC's socialist Giacinto Serrati-- with the two criticizing each other in their respective newspapers.

(Each was an editor. Galleani edited the influential Italian-language anarchist newspaper Cronaca Sovversiva-- aka the Subversive Chronicles. Serrati published the socialist Il Proletario)

Who won the public argument? Depends who you ask-- but seems like the loser was Serrati, who, in a fit of spite, published Galleani's address and alias (remember, he was a fugitive). Galleani was quickly arrested by the police, who were monitoring both papers.
