I've seen statistics that it happens more frequently with adopted or step-children. For gay parents, at least one of them is not the biological parent. Which may skew your perception. But doesn't show causation.

That said, I don't think gay or lesbian couples are the best option to raise kids, though preferable to the state. Kids need a mother and a father.
