Yes!
People seem to have an innate bias towards conviction. It drives me batty trying to talk with someone when they're only really interested in telling you what they "know" as a means of asserting their worth. I think people drastically undervalue intellectual discovery, which is completely impossible if the conversational partner is nothing more than a dispenser of "wisdom".
