One could argue that "no system" is a system since it has the word "system" in it. But that is besides the point.

One could calculate the cost of how much running an extra load of dishes would sum up to over a year; from water to electricity and its bill, plus the time cost of loading and emptying the appliance, etc.

This approach could backfire, so be warned. Though if one has some kind of external goal like saving the environment, it could be beneficial to show this as a concrete example.
