A black bear sow attacked a group of teens on Mt Si yesterday when they got too close to its cubs. Everyone is ok, minor injuries only. Reports are that they surprised the bear, which may indicate they were approaching from down wind. This is one of the things folks mean when they say, "Be aware of your surroundings."
