AI promises to automate huge portions of the economy over time and many jobs will be lost. During a time of great transition is a time to think about major restructuring.
Experiments are already happening around the world for a shorter work week and I would think that AI increases the liklihood of that happening, if we recognize the opportunity and not let it pass while fighting a loosing battle to prevent or stop AI productivity gains - leaving the benefits to the corporations.
