One more story today, this one's more recent.
Two facts for a start. Firstly, my phone battery is not very good anymore. I find it safer to charge it before I leave the train, even though I'm on battery saving all the time. Secondly, my charging cable is a bit damaged β but not so bad that I would find it hard to find a working position.
So one Sunday I'm getting on the "Muszelka" train, plugging the charger in, and nothing happens. I'm trying to move the charger, move the cable, neither helps. I'm waiting till the train departs, in case the power wasn't on yet β and still nothing. Well, it happens, the sockets are probably disconnected today.
So I take out my powerbank, connect the phone and it starts charging. I take the phone, do stuff, put it back, and it stops charging. I'm fighting the cable again, but I can't find a single "good" position anymore. Did it die? Well, time to switch into airplane mode and save battery aggressively. And in the evening, I connect the charger at home, and it charges just fine. Well, we'll see tomorrow.
Tomorrow, I take a regular train to ZbΔ
szynek (then change to Rzepin). The charger goes into the socket, and again nothing happens. I take out the powerbank, connect it, put the phone back and leave it alone, so I wouldn't interrupt the charging. Nevertheless, after a short while it stops charging, even though I didn't touch it. Is the powerbank broken perhaps? Well, another day in airplane mode.
Back home, I had an idea to charge the powerbank instead (even though it claimed to be fully charged), and apparently that helped.
Conclusions?
1. The cable is damaged, but it's not so bad that I couldn't use it (but I really should get a new one finally).
2. Two days in a row I hit trains with disconnected power sockets.
3. Powerbank didn't work, even though it claimed to be fully charged.
