One of the best comments I've seen about sacred casts was Bill Maher, talking about trans ideology and paedophilia.
He quoted an interview with a famous bank robber: "Fred, why do you rob banks? Because that's where the money is."
Then he made the point that it's not that, for example, all scout masters or all gymnastics coaches are paedophiles, but that any occupation/ volunteering role that involves working with children and teens will attract paedophiles... "Because that's where the children are."
Therefore we have to be very careful about creating sacred casts - priests, "selfless" volunteers, rainbow advocates - who have access to children, especially vulnerable children - whose motives for wanting to work with children cannot be questioned. (Re vulnerable children, see in particular, Blackpool having both the highest rate of child transition in England, higher even than Brighton, and also having the highest proportion of looked after children in England)
