me: it's upsetting how many D&D characters are haunted by unresolved trauma and abuse. I want to make characters who are healing from their trauma, and are doing the things that they do because they care deeply about something

them: adventuring is an extremely dangerous profession, and people who choose to gamble with their lives on a daily basis generally aren't doing well mentally and are often forced into this life out of desperation

me: those are very good points. in that case, I'm going to make my mentally healthy characters in another system because that sounds way too real
