I was thinking we keep all types so they all remain stable. But using (*handwaves*) some form of edition-dependent mod / type aliases / re-exports combo, we can determine what the types are called and where they come from.
I don't think that would quite work today because type aliases change type IDs. But it's the general shape I’m thinking of.
