The crazy thing is, #nostr is more centralized and less censorship-resistant than existing P2P technologies that have been out for a decade. #I2P, #Freenet, #Hyphanet, etc. If we make each user also a participant in the network (like Bitcoin was in Satoshi's day as opposed to now where we have outsourced certain roles like mining), we can help avoid this fate better. Nostr could have been built on or leverage these existing technologies, and I hope it talks with them at some point. For distribution of large content (videos, etc), storing things on relays will quickly lead to economies of scale and centralization. Peer-hosted and peer-shared content is the way to prevent that.
