Agreed but also some caveats…
Early brand logos sometimes made from mid level designers result in bad readability.

Especially when brands become more internationally recognized readability of Roman letters for example for Asian natives becomes more relevant, as they have to be able to google search those names.

A logo isn’t the branding, it’s just a part of it.
When becoming a household name a distinctive logo gets less important, just think about how often you actually see the airbnb or Spotify logo inside the app.

But the results also stem from stupid and huge agency board meetings with a lot of ego. So they decide on the most bland shit
Distinctiveness comes at a cost, but it’s worth it.

There’s social pressure nudging you toward conformity.. resisting that requires awareness and a loot of energy. Look at how all these corporations fucked their branding and merged into one big pot of mehhh..

Same happens with you personally. Embrace your uniqueness. Even if it makes others uncomfortable.
In the end, it’s your distinctiveness that makes you who you are.
