Nothing just resolves perfectly overnight. Not acknowledging some good even within the context of a flawed man within a flawed system, is like refusing to acknowledge your victory in one battle because "well what about the war?".
The war is won over the course of many battles. The first step to figuring out your ideal strategy is to simply tally your wins and losses.
And that means applying perspective and relative measurement as stated above to see what is and is not driving the plot to the ideal end goal.
