That's correct! (Only some special events with "Q" etc.)
But there are arms of our spiral galaxy, in whichbthe density of stars is much lower. Include enormous clouds of interstellar dust which can block light and there are regions in which one wouldn't bevable to see stars.
(We can only see a few hundreds or thousands light years at maximum *inside* our galaxy, don't we?)
