If your correction doesn't stop the behavior, your kid has done the calculation and decided it is worth it. You need to escalate in some way.
I do escalate and I do punish other people's kids who damage my stuff, right in front of the parent even.
Don't bring little Timmy with "impulse control problems" around my house unless you want to accidentally learn that Timmy knows how to behave and just doesn't respect you.
