It's been around for a little while, but imo security theater.

Torv3 On unit addresses are the public key. Authenticity and end-to-end encryption is already baked into it. TLS certs are redundant.

Imo It only really makes sense if you have a clearnet facing site. (Ie yes this is my onion site) Or an internal proxy to backend hop that needs it.
