Show me a counterexample. Something with the sufficient number of implementations which the creator has actually advocated for. I know the process is a mess, but the people that whinge about this stuff generally don't even try to contribute. It's a political process. If you don't want to politic fine, but don't blame the people who volunteer to do the review.
