Several reasons for this. Some protocols that claim to be private when they’re not. Poorly designed specifications that can doxx you, expose every device you own publicly, and even leak your encrypted content. Bad ideas that get loud and go against every best practice we know. And, in general, people who don’t understand or care about any of this, and recklessly accept anything promoted by an "influencer."
Nostr already had tradeoffs in its design. At the beginning, we tried to work around these tradeoffs to consciously mitigate them. But now, people act as if they’ve just discovered fire by rejecting all of that.
