Flotilla's definitely not designed to be a reddit replacement, but if you're not set on the hierarchical comment trees, it does have lots of interesting content types (forum-like threads, articles, as well as chat). dtonon (nprofile…ejah) is working on a interoperable forum thing that might be good. Anyway, I would join such a thing so let me know when it's set up (or if you want some help setting one up).
