But [reading the decision](https://curia.europa.eu/juris/document/document.jsf;jsessionid=5B25D684454F1FEC4803403869DEDDFF?text=&docid=290695&pageIndex=0&doclang=EN&mode=req&dir=&occ=first&part=1&cid=4134878) I think it's a bit broader than that: my reading of the decision certainly seems to imply that it affects *at least* changes of first name in general too.
(Also: It very explicitly states that name/gender changes done in the UK prior to 1st Jan 2021 must be recognised, for anyone those are applicable to)
