A trap I don’t want to fall into is just assuming that the taboos of the culture were coming from are valid and unoppressive just because we are uncomfortable with challenging them, or especially because we’re afraid of what others will think of us. It’s fine if we question things and then decide to keep them as-is, what’s important is that we actually go over them honestly.
That is why you should discuss that with spag, politely, rather than escalating into mockery. It is a genuine question to be had with regard to RevPara.
Does slur use count as para? Does it fall under discrimination? Where does reclaiming fall into that? How do we enforce whether something is reclaimable?
It’s a genuine line of questioning worth discussing.
