My mom has noticed that when she talks about stuff with her friends in meat space, she starts seeing ads for related stuff on her iphone.
It made it a lot easier to convince her to set up a secret word/phrase (while out of hearing of any phone/electronics) for mutual identification.
Hmm probably it's the phones of her friends that are doing the eavesdropping... she puts her own phone in another room while at home and not using it.
