I agree that SOME SECTORS of what we have now are not in accord with a free market. Others are. And even those sectors which are not in accord with free markets are not automatically "oligarchy".
As to "giving them over to the state and thus removing the profit motive", that SOUNDS nice, but it's nonsense. People don't stop being greedy or power-seeking when they enter public service. You really think that, say, congresspeople never abuse their power to enrich themselves?
