Yah, a "medicine cabinet" here means a small, generally metal cabinet, placed so high off the ground kids cannot get into it, with a quality lock.

They are generally not put in the bathroom either, but in a cooler room. :P

The US type medicine cabinet is not supercommon here, but some places have it, it is more common to have the cabinets on the sides of the mirror. But we had mirror cabinet like that last place we lived. We call them "mirror cabinets" :)
