Last post in this thread. In my opinion the single most impactful thing you can do to make sure you create meaningful change in the world is to stick around long enough to do the required things. You can't help others until you help yourself. Grow your own physical and mental toughness so that you're able to live the life you want, on your terms, and leave behind the change you want to see for the future generations.

"What we leave behind" I break up into three categories. 1) physical things 2) ideas 3) genetics/procreation. For example ... I make things to give to my kids and teach them the value of hard work. Knocks out three birds with one stone.
