I agree. These were valuable but sadly, little else. It may be owing to my specific 1960s/70s secondary modern school where children who failed the 11-plus were sent. The 11-plus proved useless as an indicator as I joied Mensa after school & won a studentship for my PhD after I did my 1st degree in my 50s.
