I like the term "taking offense" rather than "offending someone" because I feel that the blame of an "offense" lies with the offendee. No one forces you to engage with someone saying content that you disagree with. Just ignore and walk away.
I'm sure there's something I'm missing here lol. Feel free to tear this argument apart.
I mean, don't offend someone for the sake of doing it (and being nice is always a winning strategy), but by God don't cut humor short because you're worried about offending someone.
