I said in a very friendly/apologetic tone, “Ahh no, thank you! A Buddhist and an Atheist here I’m afraid! But thank you and have a lovely Christmas!”

And she said thank you and it was a perfectly pleasant interaction.

Now, I do still have a problem with people bothering people about this. And I do think that, in a way, if they do cop less friendly reactions from some, then arguably they put themselves in the cross-hairs so to speak. Obviously nothing justifies threatening responses.
