Y'all...Im going to admit my redneck roots here. I grew up racing before girls were allowed on the track. My stepdad built nascar engines. When I was 14, I got a 1964 Mustang, in pieces, and he told me when I could put it together, I could have it. Well, I did, and I waited for him to be at a race, and I took it to his shop and swapped out the little stock six cylinder with a 351 Windsor V8, dual holleys, some 10/11 gears and a five shifter....goddamn that car was too fast for a 15 year old to own. (And I had to work for another race team for a while to pay for the engine I appropriated.)

I tell you that story, to tell you this one. I quit watching #NASCAR years ago, because it sucks now. But...for the first time since the 1970s, they are racing at Bowman Grey tonight. It will either be amazing, or a demolition derby. My poor Beloved is trying to figure out how to get an antenna to work, so I can watch the race. Bless him. Vrooom!
