How much does an older nuke plant degrade when shut down and pumps don’t run or rotate, things start to corrode? What are the safety implications? Do companies have the history and experience to know what to look for? Was the plant “pickled” or put in a preservation state or just decommissioned as cheaply as possible?
Given that a barrel of Federal money will be needed and time, is it more cost-effective and time effective to build solar or wind facilities quickly?
