My contrarian, probably incorrect take, one that I've been carrying around and getting into arguments over for a long time: sure deploy to a public cloud, but don't get too attached to particular vendor APIs nor managed services because every platform is an unreliable partner at best. The easier it is to pick up and move, the less stuck you'll be when it all goes to shit. I'm still probably wrong in the long run but allow me my little told-you-so dance, just today
