They already provoked the war by having oil reserves and not giving the US (and Trump in particular) a sufficient cut. Everything else is just a slowly escalating war starting with the prisoners, then the boats, then whatever comes next. Israeli-style random bombings? Take control of the oil fields? A CIA coup?
