Instead of "the FCC shouldn't be stifling free speech of someone I think is a jackass because the shoe will be on the other foot one day" you could have just said "the FCC stifling free speech is wrong, even someone who I think is a jackass, because that's how free speech works."
I hear this as "I don't care about Kimmel's free speech, I'm just worried the Dems might try this on me one day."
