New York City has finally approved the use of Waymo autonomous taxis in the city. The approval comes with specific stipulations. The taxis are limited to sections of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Only eight vehicles are permitted in these areas. A person is required to walk in front of each taxi wearing a black topcoat and stovepipe hat, holding a whale-oil lamp, yelling, "Beware, beware, infernal abomination coming through." The test of these vehicles ends in late September.
