When I was in the third grade, I once had a quiz in which one of the questions was what I should do if my parents told me to do something.
I answered that I would evaluate what they said and decide whether to do it.
This was marked as incorrect. The correct answer was to do what they say, no matter what.
This was perhaps my first clue that the human race is *deeply* unwell.
