Second visit to Dubai. Makes UK & France look like the fwcking dark ages. There's such a large incentive to work, there's a massive supply of services. Nothing is full. Restaurants have tables, barber (choice of 4) had appointments, taxis take no more than 60 seconds. New projects being built all over the shop. Fwcking principles of economics at work.
It's not even expensive, equivalent hotels and restaurants are cheaper. If you factor in tax free income, it's 50% cheaper still. You can see a vision, a future, pride in building something. No graffiti, no bums, no litter. Nobody asking you for change. Nobody trying to intimidate you. Feels chill & safe as fwck.
Not even many lambos.
Why's it like this? Because they don't have a sovereign debt bubble or high time preference dEmOcRaCY. It's really not hard. Allow people to work and let them keep most of what they earn. I wish the west would go back to this but until then we're going to need alternatives.
