Not as much as you would think.

Look at the move to optics for nearly all major militaries. Many optics have active electronics and moving bits and have been deemed good enough for regular grunt use. I really don't see that being much of an issue.

The biggest issue is keeping the muzzle of your laser gun free of dirt and debris. Also... Rain kinda sucks. I'm not sure how diffusion of laser energy would work in rain. I'm sure it's petty awful without another order of magnitude increase output for any significant distance.
