no, you fail to understand, its a consequence of interoperability. Someone on some forum might be calling you an idiot right this moment, and you simply are not aware of it because you never bother to go to technical-debt-hater-forum.com to read it. Trump can post something on truthsocial and there will be conversations on Reddit, Twitter, Discord servers.....newspapers, tv-shows, blogs etc.etc. all directly ''replying'' to that post. Its just that with Nostr, this shit can actually render coherently.

I.e. the reality was, is and always will be that people ''reply'' to things in all sorts of places, and the underlying question is which of those places you bother to visit in order to request what has been said.
