Interesting Mark Carney tidbit: It turns out he endorsed the progressive candidate Catherine McKenney in the last Ottawa city mayoral contest. (Although McKenney lost to Mark Sutcliffe, she went on to win the Ottawa Centre riding for the NDP in the recent provincial election.)
Carney’s support for McKenney demonstrates, to me at least, that he is more of a friend of progressive values than I had previously thought.
