Gn #nostr.
Today I was struggling again with anonymity. I'm used to sharing a fair amount of personal info (like my full name, photo, email, phone, etc.) online.
Because of a few facts about Nostr, I decided from the beginning I would try to remain anon. One important thing is not being able to reliably delete. Another is the close relationship with Bitcoin.
But today I got my CMS setup (I was a little surprised PHP Fusion still existed, last I'd used it wss over a decade ago.) on a website that I will never be able to share here, as the domain contains my last name, and other information would be easily determined from there including my street address. It is a registered business, and the registration has all that, and is a public record.
So, today I did something I haven't done for a long, long time. And it felt really good to still be able to do it. And none of you will ever see it, and that made me a little sad, and definitely made me want to get it done so I could move on to doing things I could share as anon.
I don't see this getting easier, but nobody said it would be, right?
