Ontario school boards are rightly banning smartphones in class, but allowing their use outside of class. This balance is good. While smartphones offer benefits, they can be distracting in the classroom. Teachers should make their lessons engaging to maintain focus. This isn't the case for most, and the distraction if real, even in the days before smartphones in class, they would retain a lot more people's attention if they made it fun.
