A problem with some bloggers is that they copy stuff without attribution. Some years ago, some non-entity won some sort of contest in San Francisco, and it was reported by quite a few bloggers. All of them named the same wrong winner. So, it is pretty likely that they copied each other. Meanwhile it looked to readers like a number of independent sources were reporting the same thing. A number of days later, the mistakes were silently corrected.
