I think sticking to one denomination, at first, can be a good idea, since they tend to be comprehensive and cohesive.

But, once you become more grounded, it can be interesting to discuss with others. I also really like watching learned Catholic men debate from other denominations, for instance. I've learned a lot, that way, including about Catholicism.
