Electoral success may well help facilitate this and is complementary to it but being alongside our potential voters, helping tackle day-to-day challenges, enabling people feel there is a point in engaging because good stuff can & does happen are all crucial
I don’t accept the debate is binary but it’s one we really need to have to gain clarity about what we mean. Whether it will be helpful to have the discussion in the glare of a hostile media is another matter
