Growing up under Reagan, we were told that capitalism and democracy walked hand in hand because both involved freedom and choice.
Watching billionaires and corporations support or cave to Trump's fascism reveals this was always untrue.
That's why I am a social democrat (in the European sense.)
Democracy involves everyone's vote counting equally:
One person, one vote -- not one dollar, one vote.
