Rather interesting to hear Hinton's fears about machine learning. He is worried about superintelligence in 20 years and that the profit motive is leading companies like OpenAI to dump their safety people. I was surprised, though, that he made no mention of the torrent of machine-generated shit that is starting to completely swamp our knowledge-base, our online feeds, and our energy systems while companies do their utmost to shred libraries and shared resources. #NobelPrize #physics
