As an ideology, #Christianity has the virtue of simplicity. In order to understand the theological and intellectual core of Christianity (at least, as I was taught them) one needs to learn only a relatively small number of key concepts and events. I must confess that seemed like an advantage when I recoiled from the early 200x pagan scene and fell back on ceremonial Christianity as the nearest possible religion to the one I wanted, or told myself I wanted back in 200x. I felt as if I could *understand* things like sin and atonement and even woollier concepts such as transubstantiation, and that made conversion easier to justify.

Such I suppose is the purpose of Christian apologetics: one cannot *prove* that faith is the right choice, but one can ease the difficult task of swallowing the Christian faith with great helpings of sugar—clear crystalline bits of logical disputation, true enough in their own right and inoffensive to one's nose for fallacy, and sweetly reassuring.

One imagines the miracle baby (you know, like in *Tokyo Godfathers*), the newborn faith, being laid down to rest gently in a manger filled with shredded #CSLewis books to cushion the infant tender and mild. Gosh maybe I should write something like this and see if I can get some Christians to bite on it—for I, too, am a fisher of men. Er, of humanity. I mean—
