➤ He is an important religious authority for Degel HaTorah, part of the United Torah Judaism alliance that has been central to Netanyahu’s governments.
➤ Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett called Lando’s comments “shame and disgrace” and attempted to link them to his political rival, Netanyahu. Former military chief Gadi Eisenkot and Member of the Knesset Avigdor Liberman also condemned Lando’s comments.
